She is part of the selection committee for Southeast Asian film projects and screenings at Open Doors, Festival del Film Locarno. She is also in charge of the Upcoming Lab at Solothurn Filmtage, a training programme for young Swiss filmmakers with a first film project after their BA or MA in an art or cinema school. Since 2008, she is part of the artistic committee at Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival. In 2015, she launched the Festival Cinéma Jeune Public in Lausanne curating independent films and organizing workshops on independent cinema for youth audiences. Since 2016, she is the festival advisor and distributor at Cinema Departement/cinéma du réel at Haute école d’art et de design, HEAD – Genève. She holds an MA in History of art and English & American literature from the Université de Lausanne, as well as a DAS in Cultural management.
Delphine's selection for the "By Invitation" program, Ciudad Maya by Andrés Padilla Domene, examines Mayan culture, past and present, straddling the line between science fiction and documentary.
"In the city of Merida, Mexico, a group of young urban Maya, operate mysterious technological instruments to do some sort of archaeological survey of a ruined site. However, the monuments they are scanning are not ancient, but modern replicas."
Catch Ciudad Maya and the rest of the programmer's picks at By Invitation on Friday, June 9th at Neptune. Be sure to stick around after the screening for the Q+A session with Delphine and HIFF'S other visiting programmers.
