The fourth and final day of HIFF 2023 is here! It's been a genuine pleasure gathering in the Light House Arts Centre, discovering films and celebrating this wonderful community with you. This position is funded through the Job Creation Partnership Program and candidates must be eligible for that program in order to be considered.
The HIFF Festival Assistant will be responsible for assisting with the planning and implementation of the 17th annual Halifax Independent Filmmakers Festival, including helping with sponsorship, programming, print traffic, and event logistics.

Today, we'll ride out the humidity in the Light House Arts Centre for two final screenings. At 1 p.m., catch this year's Canadian Shorts program, featuring a diverse lineup of wild and wonderful works from some true visionaries across the country. At 3 p.m. we'll present The Crossing, the mesmerizing paint-on-glass masterpiece from French animator Florence Miailhe. Tickets are still available online and at the door for $10!

After an intimate Artist Talk with Islands filmmaker Martin Edralin at the AFCOOP office, we camped out in the Light House Arts Centre for a Friday night double bill of Amalia Ulman's El Planeta and the Ryan Steel Retrospective.
Then we packed Good Robot's speakeasy space for a sold-out late-night screening of Jane Schoenbrun's We're All Going to the World's Fair.
